On the Edge

On the Edge

We love studying people’s lives and their stories on how they achieved their goals. There’s so much we can learn from people, particularly those in the past. I personally love learning from Creative minds, and how they took their first steps. I guess I want to know what it takes to do the same. I recently watched a movie, “Walt before Mickey” and I really admired Walt Disney’s dedication to making his dream work. It took some huge failures and yet he kept his dream alive. It took everything in his power to fulfill his dream. And now? well of course we know the result now.

I love this image that I photographed this morning. My feet got wet, I’m on the edge, yet I definitely wasn’t going to take my eyes off the prize. It’s way too much fun and worth it in the end. Sometimes we may need to put ourselves out on the edge a little more to reach our goals. I hope this can encourage you to do the same too.

I love the outdoors. And I love the thrill of being in perfect moments in time. It’s addictive. You know that feeling when you’re on holidays, eating breakfast somewhere breathtaking? I want to bring that emotion to a 2D photograph so that feeling can live on.

But even more than that, I believe we have an incredible designer who made us and our world, and I want to see what He has done. I know there’s a whole world out there full of incredible things and I really don’t have to go very far. We are always saying to our daughter, Georgie, to look with her eyes and not her mouth, (Mummy! I can’t find it.)

Well, I also am learning to look with my eyes.

Solander Swell

Yesterday the swell was huuuuuuuuge! there are two tiny little people on a cliff-face, which just adds scale to how big the waves are. I loved every moment, and felt so humbled and small against the cliffs and the ocean.

And here’s a close up, so you can see the couple.

Until next time!

Warm Regards,
